Bridges

Bridges are devices that allow you to section off a large network into two smaller yet more efficient networks. A bridge monitors the traffic information on both of the sides of the network so it can pass the information to the correct location. A bridge can inspect each message and if it’s needed it can broadcast it to the other side of the network; bridges manage traffic on both sides of the network to obtain the best performance.
